The H+E Group, headquartered in Stuttgart, has already realised 30,000 plants in the field of industrial water treatment, wastewater treatment and water reclamation. This makes the company one of the leading plant manufacturers worldwide. In all projects that our teams develop for our customers, we rely on innovative technology "engineered in Germany". With our global network in various countries, we also guarantee direct proximity to our customers. The foundation stone for H+E was laid by the company's founder Willy Hager back in 1932 in Stuttgart. Since then, the company has continuously expanded its know-how, also through its affiliation with renowned corporations. A milestone in the company's history was the takeover of Permutit GmbH Berlin. With the acquisition of this traditional company, H+E, then still known as Hager+Elsässer, considerably expanded its experience in the planning and execution of large-scale plants. We owe our technological expertise in wastewater treatment and pre-treatment with biological-aerobic and biological-anaerobic processes to a large extent to Philipp Müller GmbH Apparatebau, which had been active in this field since 1896. The H+E group was able to integrate this traditional company into its own structure in 1999.

Since October 2023, the group of companies with locations in Europe and Asia belongs to Gradiant, a global solutions provider for advanced water and wastewater treatment.

High-quality components, long-term supplier relationships and comprehensive aftersales service guarantee reliable plants with high availability. They are planned, designed and built by our engineers in Stuttgart. H+E works together with local companies in more than 130 countries – true to the “Think global, act local” guiding principle.
