Food and beverage production is one of the largest industries in the world.
Since the water used becomes part of the product, water quality is especially important in this area. Depending on the type of production, food manufacturers require systems for filtration, softening, partial and complete desalination, as well as disinfection of the water. Whether for the treatment of well water, city water or other water sources, H+E supplies the right technology for your industrial water treatment. Our plants stand out with their operational safety, resource conservation and high degree of automation.Various types of waste water are generated in the production process. Some are heavily contaminated by product residues, as is the case with sugar beet washing water. Other streams are polluted with salt, such as waste water from bottle washing plants.
H+E has wide-ranging experience in many industries and can offer you expert advice – for example in yeast, potato and milk processing as well as sugar, beer and juice production. From anaerobic pre-treatment or the aerobic stage with nutrient elimination up to a complete turnkey plant, we plan and deliver every conceivable waste water plant for the food and beverage industry.

In order to increase the existing waste water treatment plant’s performance, H+E implemented an anaerobic ANAFIT®.R2S reactor and a flotation plant at Farm Frites.
After stringent European directives made direct discharge of treated wastewater into River Tisza, a tributary of the Danube, impossible, Alltech-Fermin opted to build a new wastewater treatment plant. H+E convinced and received the order for a new wastewater treatment plant in Senta.
In Egypt, an anaerobic-aerobic waste water treatment plant operating in a sugar beet factory, meets the strictest limit values.
Significantly lower wastewater fees: a dairy in Bavaria achieved this goal thanks to H+E’s expansion of its existing wastewater treatment plant.
